Friction Tester

SPR Friction Tester for plastic pellets and powders.

This friction tester is able to determine the frictional coefficient of platics against metal and other materials. The fictional coefficient can vary greatly with surface temperature, velocity, and pressure. Additionally the type of metal can greatly influence the frictional coefficient. This friction tester is able to vary all the above parameters so that the optimal frictional coefficients can be found for processes like plastics extrusion.

In plastics extrusion having a minimal frictional coefficient on the screw, and maximizing the coefficient on the barrel can greatly improve the extrusion rate and stability.
