At ACME INDUSTRIAL GROUP
We’re successful because . . .
We Don’t Do It Alone

To our current and future Valued Customers:

ACME Industrial Group was founded upon and profits from a profoundly simple principle. We believe our company must embrace a vision of service. Service to our Customers, our Employees, our Vendors and our world must prevail in all that we do.

Our commitment is expressed in our constant attempt to fulfill our customer’s needs --- whether for specialized coatings and finishes, extended part life, extreme corrosion resistance, design consulting or rigid delivery schedules. It shows, too, in the longstanding relationships we enjoy with our employees and vendors. ACME Industrial Group's appreciation for God's gift of the earth has resulted in our strict standards of ecological stewardship.

At ACME Industrial Group, a strong Christian faith in "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you" is truly the basis of our business. All of these factors contribute to ACME being a vital part of the total community.

Integrity, Excellence and Commitment ….. ACME Industrial Group didn't set these standards, we just try to live up to them, and we credit our success to the One who did.

YOU SEE . . . . WE DON’T DO IT ALONE
Sincerely,
Rich Burton
Richard W. Burton, Jr., President

Hard Chrome (AED 1010)
Also known as industrial, functional or engineering chromium plating. It is extremely hard and corrosion resistant, improves tool life and performance and can be used to salvage mis-machined parts. Hard chromium deposits are primarily applied to the base metal to increase the service life of a component.

Electroless Nickel (AED 2010)
Electroless nickel is an engineering coating primarily used for its outstanding corrosion and wear resistance properties. It’s amorphous coating has no crystalline structure, it’s excellent coating uniformity, solderability and brazeability make EN an excellent choice amongst other available coatings. As-plated it is – magnetic, non-staining and will pass the 30-second nitric acid test. AED 2010 meets all MIL, AMS and ASTM specifications.

Electropolishing (AED 3010)
Electropolishing is an electro-chemical process used to clean, brighten, deburr, polish, stress relieve and increase the corrosion resistance of stainless steel parts by removing free iron and hydrogen from the surface of the part. Electropolishing is typically used to improve parts cosmetically. It can be used on a variety of metals, most commonly stainless steel. The process is excellent for food processing and handling equipment, medical instruments, aerospace components, automotive trim, marine components, delicate stampings, gears, splines and springs.

Passivation (AED 4010)
Passivation is a chemical process used to further increase the corrosion resistance of stainless steel parts. Passivation treatments improve the surface of stainless steel by dissolving free iron that has been imbedded in the surface during machining or forming. The process is excellent for food processing and food handling equipment, medical instruments and related components, aerospace components, cookware, utensils and fasteners.

Hard Chrome is accepted throughout industry as an OEM coating which provides a surface
that is extremely wear and corrosion resistant. Offering over 150 years of combined
experience, Acme prides itself on the ability to precision plate both OD and ID surfaces.

Hard Chrome is also an economical means to repair damaged or mis-machined parts rather than replacing them. We also offer ‘Chrome over Nickel’ for the ultimate in corrosion protection and wear resistance, (also a cost-effective alternative to stainless steel).

Acme’s capacities range from 36” diameter to 360” long.

Our Norton Universal cylindrical grinder has the capacity to swing 14” up to 72” long. Operating on live centers it can maintain a .0002” tolerance. With OD polishing capabilities of 28” diameter up to 330” long, Acme can achieve your particular RMS finish before or after plating. We’re able to grind or polish anything we can plate!

Electropolishing – AED 3010

Improves microfinishes, removes fine burrs, polishes, brightens, and eliminates surface imperfections, removes free iron and other corrosion-causing impurities. Salvages out-of-tolerance components without having to be re-machined.

Electropolishing is an electro-chemical process used to clean, brighten, deburr, polish, and further increase the corrosion resistance of stainless steel parts. Electropolishing is typically used to improve a part’s cosmetic value and prevents micro-bacterial growth. The process is excellent for food processing and food handling equipment, medical instruments and related components, automotive trim, delicate stampings, gears, splines and springs.

Passivation – AED 4010

The passivation process improves the corrosion resistance properties of stainless steels by removing surface contamination, usually iron, so that the optimum corrosion resistance of the stainless steel will be maintained.
