Mokon offers a complete range of circulating liquid temperature control systems, uniquely engineered and made of the highest-grade materials. Utilized in a wide range of applications, Mokon products provide cost-effective, accurate and dependable temperature control.
About Mokon
Mokon's association with the well-known Caplugs (a line of proprietary plastic closures used worldwide) is by no means a happenstance. Mokon Temperature Control Systems were developed originally in 1955 by production engineers of Caplugs (Protective Closures Co), to meet their own exacting need for a compact, safe, and efficient means of maintaining close control over the temperature of the molds on their fast-cycle injection molding machines.
The success of their development efforts has been well proven, not only in their own shop, but in plants manufacturing a wide variety of products. As you might expect, a large proportion of the installations have been made on injection molding machines. More and more successful applications are being made on machinery for other types of molding, embossing, calendering, cooking, melting, and extruding in such divergent industries as chemical, rubber, metal die casting, printing, and food processing.
The widespread acceptance of Mokon's design and construction principles has encouraged continued expansion and improvement of the product line. Today, the company offers circulating water and hot oil systems, and portable chillers, in a range of models to meet virtually any thermal processing need. In addition, the company's engineers are frequently designing custom equipment to solve special problems or meet unusual applications involving temperature control in the process industries.
MOKON INTRODUCES NEW PRODUCTS
New Iceman Central Chillers Line:
Mokon introduces its new line of Iceman central chillers, designed to provide efficient and reliable centralized cooling. These air-cooled or water-cooled units, with capacities from 30 to 80 tons, feature both single and multiple-circuit designs. They provide continuous centralized process cooling from 20 to 65 degrees F to keep machinery working at peak performance. Options include scroll or semi-hermetic discus compressors, as well as a microprocessor or Allen-Bradley PLC control system.
Mokon's New Duratherm NPS System:
Mokon's new Duratherm NPS negative pressure temperature control system temporarily fixes cooling circuit leaks to allow production to continue through the end of the run, reducing repair delays and increasing efficiency. Its compact design incorporates a venturi jet pump and reservoir to accurately control temperatures up to 180 degrees by pulling rather than pushing water through the process. The versatile Duratherm NPS has the ability to provide positive pressure (when no leaks are present) or negative pressure (to stop a leak).
Mokon Introduces Expanded Capacity Duratherm Line:
Mokon introduces its expanded line of Duratherm, Dual Zone Duratherm and Durathermp HTP systems to accommodate larger applications. Featuring the same unmatched control efficiency and accuracy offered by the existing line of Duratherm, the expanded line provides an increased pump capacity of up to 10 HP, flow rates to 120 gpm, and increased heating capacity of up to 96 kw.
Mokon's New ClearFlo Systems:
Mokon has designed its new ClearFlo and ClearFlo PLUS Systems to reduce contamination in heat transfer fluid systems while minimizing downtime and maintenance costs. The ClearFlo System continuously filters heat transfer fluids, removing particles as small as 10 microns, without disrupting system operation. This improves efficiency, can triple the life of a heat transfer fluid pump and reduces the frequency of oil changes. In addition, the ClearFlo System reduces deterioration of rotating parts, including pump rotors, impellers, seals, valves, and stems. The ClearFlo PLUS System filters the cool oil reservoir and removes particles as small as 1/10 micron to reduce fluid contamination and water build-up, minimizing the nuisance of shutdowns caused by water vapor pockets.
Industry News
Mokons temperature control systems meet and exceed SPI Guidelines for Liquid Circulating Temperature Controls (LCTC) and the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA-79) standard for industrial machinery. The SPI Guidelines purpose is to recommend safety guidelines, for which LCTC are manufactured, cared for and used. The guideline is to be followed for all new and remanufactured systems. Within the SPI Guideline, the NFPA-79 electrical standard for industrial machinery, as well as other standards such as ANSI safety signage and ASHRAE 15 mechanical refrigeration code, are referenced to be adhered to and/or followed.
