In a world of constant technological change, outstanding PVC and CPVC pipe extrusions can only be produced by a company with unique skills. Technical mastery, persistent dedication and testing without compromise these are the elements that make Harvel Plastics an international leader in thermoplastic extrusions.
Key to Harvels technological advantage are superbly equipped on-site laboratories at each of two manufacturing plants. These innovative facilities are in the forefront of product development; they also evolve the most careful, vigilant standards of product testing.
This means constant checking and rechecking of the blended materials that go into Harvel products. It also means applying a range of tests to completed products tough trials that prove excellence beyond a doubt.
From the start, Harvel has been devoted to the quality of its products. Its comprehensive quality program has always been based on the continuous improvement tools of Total Quality Management (TQM) and Statistical Process Control (SPC). Harvel was the first in its industry to achieve ISO 9002 quality certification. ISO certification represents just one more benchmark for Harvel products known throughout the industry for reliable quality.
Harvels original headquarters factory was built more than 40 years ago in Easton, Pennsylvania and has since expanded to encompass a quarter of a million square feet. In Bakersfield, California, the plant, warehouse and distribution center, serve the US West and Pacific Rim, affirming the companys position as a worldwide leader. Wherever produced, Harvel pipe and extrusions embody the highest standards of quality. Today continuous dedication to those standards reinforces Harvels reputation as "The Quality Line".
Defining Quality
Pushing the standards of quality has been a trademark at Harvel since the companys beginnings. On-site, highly sophisticated, testing laboratories feature industry-leading technology and equipment developed to specifications engineered exclusively at Harvel. The industrys most current understanding of quality is defined right here.
Flattening Resistance
Uniform strength and product consistency are continually monitored through rigorous testing on all Harvel products. Flattening resistance is one test method used.
Hydrostatic Testing
Harvels highly sophisticated pressure chambers measure the extreme pressure-bearing capability limits of all pipe sizes up through 24-inch diameters.
Impact Resistance
Durability and toughness are continually verified for each production run. Rigorous drop-impact testing at varying temperatures is one way to ensure Harvel products exceed industry standards.
Custom belled or gasketed ends, centerless grinding and threading are available upon request. When disassembly is a factor or large-diameter fittings are hard to get, we can roll- or cut-groove pipe ends to accommodate groove-style fittings.
A complete inventory of PVC and CPVC valves and fittings in all configurations is readily available, making Harvel a one-source supplier for virtually any system application.
Total Responsibility
Delivering orders properly is vital in maintaining top quality. Harvel stores all its pipe and extrusions under roof at all times in its own carefully managed warehouses. And whether its headed across town or around the world, Harvel delivers it on time by the best means available, often with one of its own heavy-duty trucks.
Custom Packaging
Advances in packaging make a real contribution to the quality of delivered pipe and extrusions. Special attention to specific customer requirements is given to each Harvel shipment. Many products are wrapped in plastic to ensure cleanliness when delivered; boxed for protection and uniformity, making them easy to bundle and stack; or strapped and framed in wood for convenient forklift handling and load shift control.
Attention to Details
Harvels manufacturing experience reaches back to the development of PVC and CPVC pipe. After producing hundreds of thousands of miles of pipe and extrusions, the company knows exactly what it takes to create quality. In two highly productive facilities, the plant floor is where familiarity with both product and process counts the most. That experience and that growth are behind every inch of Harvel pipe.
Blending
Production begins with exacting blend formulations of the best compounds available to achieve the desired physical properties consistently.
Extrusion
Single and twin screw extruders have a wide-ranging capability of standard 1/8" to 24" diameters and custom extrusions for the production of pipe, duct, angle, solid rounds, hexes, squares and heavy-wall tubing. Constant supervision and on-line quality testing ensure consistent quality throughout each production run.
