OASIS Alignment Services, Inc. (OASIS) was founded in 1982 in Rochester, New Hampshire. Two decades later, with regional service centers located throughout the United States and Canada, OASIS is the undisputed industry expert in the field of precision alignment of large web production equipment as well as other rotating machinery.
Using optical and laser instrumentation, often custom-designed in-house, OASIS engineers have performed over 16,000 alignment inspections and adjustments on an extremely wide range of equipment including paper machines, corrugators, coaters, metalizers, web and newspaper printing presses, nonwovens, roofing, OSB and film lines as well as ancillary equipment of all types.
Over the past several years, OASIS has expanded its offerings to include extensive mechanical services, providing our customers with complete service from diagnostics to alignment adjustment to equipment maintenance, rebuilds and installs.
There is no other company in this field with the depth of knowledge and experience that OASIS brings to product, process and machine problems. And we deliver rapid, turnkey service to your plant.

Precision alignment of web production equipment as well as other large rotating equipment is a critical factor in their maintenance. Alignment--using optical or laser methodology depending on the specific requirements--extends the life of machinery and markedly improves product quality. Alignment often allows for increased machine speeds, as well as reduced waste and downtime.
The best datum for aligning web production equipment is a machine centerline reference. The design of the machine and its structural supports must be considered when determining the correct type of reference: an offset baseline or a cross-machine baseline. Creating a universal datum for an entire machine provides the flexibility needed for a complete alignment maintenance program. It also increases accuracy and repeatability as well as improving the speed of alignment inspections.
Equipment alignment addresses a wide variety of product problems such as poor web tracking, web breaks, baggy edges, decreased trim width, uneven caliper and static electricity, among many others.
Accurate alignment of equipment helps solve machine problems such as decreased running speed, bearing and coupling failures, abnormal vibration, roll cover damage, and improper nip impression.

From regional service centers throughout North America, our highly trained engineers and technicians are on call year round and can be dispatched for installations, planned outages or emergencies. Led by a Project Manager, OASIS teams bring you a depth of capability you will not receive from any other alignment company or contractor. We have extensive knowledge of virtually thousands of paper machines, web presses, corrugating and converting equipment, and other rotating machinery.
At your request, we bring our fully equipped, self-contained portable tool crib to your site, working independently to perform all the mechanical tasks associated with installation, repair, or repositioning of machine components. We work closely with your maintenance personnel to diagnose your needs, but we do not require plant support to address them.
If equipment requires machining due to corrosion damage or rebuild needs, we can carry out these complex tasks without removing the equipment from the machine. Examples of in-place machining include milling of base plates and mounting surfaces, boring of journals, keyway cutting and journal turning. And our personnel are qualified to weld different types of metals such as mild and stainless steel, cast iron and Hasteloy using processes such as TIG, MIG and stick welding as well as plasma cutting.
Our OASIS teams are highly effective and productive, resulting in work done right and on time the first time.
The following is a partial list of equipment on the OASIS portable tool crib:
* Vertical Milling Machine
* Portable Lathe
* Welding Equipment Including an LP Powered Portable Welder/Plasma Cutter
* A Full Complement of Mechanical Tools and Rigging Equipment
* Electrical Power Tools
* A Variety of Shim Materials Including Stainless Steel and Brass
