Incorporated in February 1974, R&D Molders, Inc. is a privately held Texas Corporation. For over a quarter-century, R&D Molders has provided custom injection molding, blow molding, and tooling to government agencies as well as private and commercial industrial sectors. We have produced for the GSA, DOD, toy, medical, business machine, sporting goods, electronic, home and garden, and many other industries.

Our 12,000-sq. ft. facility is roughly five minutes from the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport and houses our design and production equipment. We also operate a 4,800-sq. ft. satellite facility located at 1515 South Commerce Street in Lockhart, Texas (approximately 25 miles south).
R&D Molders is equipped to blow mold a variety of resins in a number of different sizes and shapes. From just a few grams of part weight to 5 lbs., we blow mold polyethylene, polypropylene, ABS, EVA, styrene, Hytrel, Santoprene, K-Resin, and even Xenoy resins.

Since 1974, R&D Molders has provided custom injection molded components to a variety of markets. Ranging from 15 ton, 1.5 oz. shot to 300 ton, 30 oz. shot, we mold polyolefins to engineering-grade thermoplastics utilizing filled and unfilled resins.

Engineering is the "powerhouse" of R&D Molders. We provide complete in-house engineering service that builds the bridges between part design, tool design, moldmaking, and production. With state-of-the-art design and programming capabilities, we'll bring your project to closure on time, on specification, and on budget.

R&D Molders maintains a pro-active quality assurance system. Our system is a hybrid based upon MIL-I-45208A, MIL-Q-9858, and the ISO 9000 series specifications. We maintain an active database of inspection devices allowing for on-time calibration and accuracy verifications. When required we can provide SPC data on either part dimension parameters or process parameters. All customer-provided quality assurance criteria is incorporated into our database of inspection instructions that are issued with each production order. In the absence of any customer criteria, we create our own, including critical process parameters. All inspection data and results of inspections are available plant-wide through a local-area-network-accessible database. We have a wide assortment of inspection tools including surface plates, micrometers, calipers, weight scales, a Hall Effect Thickness Gage, as well as a video inspection station.
