Setting up a Candle Production
It is very easy to set up a factory for candle producing, all you need for the basis equipment are the wax melting, candle making machine, water tank, electric pulp, racks.
Wax melting machine:
For melting wax into liquid, 380V 50~60Hz. One set wax melting machine can supply the material for 4~5 sets common candle making machines.
Candle making machine:
Pour the liquid wax into the machine, when solid, rotate the wheel and get the candles. One kind candle making machine can produce one kind candle with one confirm specification (kinds of he candle: common shape, pillar shape, votive shape, tea-light shape, spiral shape and special shape etc.).
Candle making machine need not the power supply. The moulds in the machine will be cooled by circular water.
Water tank:
Store the water which will supply to the candle making machines. The circular water from the machine will back into the tank then be cooled naturally. The dimension of the tank is based on the quantities of the candle making machine you used, for your information, if you have 100 set candle making machine, you need a tank to store about 20 tons water. Such being the case, if you want to set up a small factory with the quantities of the machines under 20 sets to produce the candle, you can choose 10 tons water tank. Then you must have the preparation to enlarge the tank if your candles enjoy the good market and you also wish purchased more machines.
Electric pump:
To supply the power to transport the water from the tank to the candle making machine.
Racks:
To store the candles which produced from the candle making machine.
Others:
The house you need to setup the factory is based on the quantities of the machine.

CANDLE MAKING WAXES
Paraffin wax comes in different melting points. The type of candle you are making will determine which melting point to buy.
Paraffin is a petroleum by-product. It contains oil. The lower the melting temperature of the paraffin, the more oil content in the wax. You want low melt point wax for container candles, and higher melt point wax for moulded free-standing candles. Use the highest melt point wax for taper candles
Container Wax 54 degrees C (125-138 degrees Fahrenheit) or lower. Use when you want your poured candle to stay in its container, i.e.. glass, tin, pot etc. This wax burns the longest in the container type candles because of its higher oil content. It melts first, then burns off.
Mould Wax 56-62 degrees C (139-143 Fah). It has less oil in it. The free-standing candle doesn't drip as it would if the wax melted at a lower temperature. Less oil in the wax also means it is firmer and retains its moulded shape well.
Dipping Wax 62 degrees C (145 Fah). This is the wax you use for making taper candles. It adheres to itself, so each dip will build upon the last to form the tapered candle. This wax can also be used as an overdip for pillar candles, to help them be drip free- or to seal pressed flowers that have been glued to the pillar candle.
WICK FOR CANDLE
Wicks come in different types and sizes. You will usually find small, medium and large (diameter measure) for each of the following types. Use one size higher for each 5 cm (2 inches) of candle diameter for long burning, drip reduced, non smoking candles. The relationship of the wick to the wax type and container or mould size/type is important for getting a long burning candle. Use a fatter wick for larger candles or for candles made from long burning wax, like beeswax or paraffin with hardening additives in it. When using flat braid wick, place the wick in your candles with the nap or grain of the braid down ('v' up-open at the top). If you wick a candle with the grain of the braid going from bottom to top (the wrong way) when the candle burns it will develop a carbonized ball on it, and that will smoke and burn unevenly. Don't worry about wick direction with paper core or metal core wicking.
It is important that you match the type of wick to the type of candle you are making:
Flat Braid - Looks like it sounds. It has a decorative appearance, and can be used for most candles but it tends to flop over and drown itself in your candle during burning. This kind of wick is mostly used for taper candles.
Square Braid - Has a more sturdy structure. Use in moulded candles, container candles and dipped candles.
Metal Core - Zinc or Lead. Use for small container candles and votives or tea lights, tiny terra cotta pots.
Paper Core - Use for small container candles too. They may smoke more than a metal core wick.

1. A brief of the candle making machine
My moulding machines are specially designed for making candles of various forms.
2. Structure and Performance of common candle making machine
2.1 Structure
The machine is composed of candle holding dish, water tank, machine frame, spool box, hand wheel, spindle, bevel gear, lead screw, nut, nut shelf, bearing box, cross beam, push-off tube and candle moulding tubes, etc.
2.2 Performance
2.2.1 Water tank, candle moulding tube enable the fluid wax to solidify by means of circulating water in the tube.
2.2.2 Candle holding dish make usre that the wick is in the center of the tube and the candle to be properly placed and clamped.
2.2.3 Lead heads and push-off tubes are used for the forming of the candle tip and the push of the candle from the candle moulding tube.
2.2.4 The spool box is used for mounting the wick spool.
3. Installation and Test run
The machine is a movable design and need no fixed foundation just place the machine smooth and steady.
Check carefully if any spare parts are turning loose or tends to fall off, and clean the accumulated dirt on all parts of the machine. Fill oil on all lubrication points. Candle moulding tubes shall be smeared with small amount of lubricant or white Vaseline oil. Raise and lower the cross beam of the unloaded machine several times, if it's very flexible to be started and in normal operation, then do the followings:
3.1 If there is clearance between the lead head and the candle mould cavity, expanding the punch can be used to strike the lead head lightly, so that the fitting between the lead head and the candle mould will be closed sealed to prevent any leakage of wax liquid.
3.2 Threading with candle wick. When threading with candle wick on a candle moulding machine of 240 piece capacity, attention shall be paid to the treading method. Since there are 8 rows of candle moulding tubes on water tank, and there are 10 rows of spool in the spool will be too far from the hole on the cover of the spool box, and this may result in a mess of the threading. Therefore, grouping method must be adopted. Threading starts from both ends and advances to the middle part, only by this means can threading be prevent from getting into a mess.
3.3 Swing the crank handle to lower the cross beam to the stopping position.
4. Operation Process
4.1 Rotate the hand wheel to making cross beam fall to the lower stopping position. Place the candle holding-dish in the slot on the locating plate, pull the locating plate to the front stopping point. Hang the wick in the serrate slot of the candle-holding plate. When the wax liquid half solids, cut off the wick, remove the candle-holding, dump the residual wax liquid. When the wax liquid in the candle moulding tube completely solidifies, rotate the hand wheel, through movement of the bevel gear, lead screw, nut and nut shelf, move the cross rail and push the candle off tube. Put on the candle-holding dish to store the candle. Let the wick enter the serrated hole, rotate the hand wheel to lower the cross beam to the lower stopping position.
5. Packing and transportation
The machine shall be covered with a plastic film to prevent entrance of water. It shall be enclosed by wooden box combined with iron nails. The box shall be reinforced by iron wires at the two ends to prevent damages in transportation. The box shall not be turned upside-down and shall avoid clashes.
Melting wax machine & the Spraying paraffin powder machine
1. Introduction of the machine
The machines are necessary machines of candle making machine. Among which the melting paraffin machine making solid paraffin into liquid by heating paraffin to some temperature. The liquid is to be used by spraying paraffin powder machine and casting candle machine.
By spraying the paraffin powder machine makes liquid into powder used by punching candle machine and pressing candle machine.
The characteristics of the machines are structure reasonable, beautiful outward, highly automatic (automatically cleaning the remaining liquid in the pipes and pump). It is safety to use the machines, as which giving up shortcoming of operating difficulty, easy bomb and unsafe, which using the method of absorbing liquid and spraying outside which having advantage of high spraying and powder well distributed.
The melting paraffin machine is to be controlled by massive intergradted circuit. The controlling precision is high, stable character is good and the temperature can be adjusted between 60 degree and 140 degree.

3. The method of operation
A. Melting paraffin machine
a. Put paraffin into the box of the machine. (attention: first time put weight of paraffin more than 25 KGs, and first put paraffin into the box then turn on power switch)
b. Push power button working display light bright, the machine start to work.
c. When the paraffin becomes into liquid and the temperature is up to 80 degree C to 140 degree C ( the temperature can be set up), the heating preservation display light is bright, then the liquid paraffin can be used, after theat put the paraffin into box according to the requirement until sop working, and turn off the power.
B. The spraying paraffin powder machine
a. first melting paraffin into liquid according to the method of using of melting paraffin machine, connect the pipes between the melting paraffin machine and the spraying paraffin powder machine (attention: the pipe should be straight and inline angle).
b. Preheating: turn on the power switch, the power display light is bright, the machine first starts preheating programme, when the preheating light is bright, the machine starts to automatically clean the remain paraffin in the pipes and machine. It is about 30 seconds.
c. Start: at the end of preheating and cleaning work, push the start button to spray paraffin powder.
Attention: the operation order, first push the start button on the spraying paraffin powder machine, and then turn on the valve between the melting paraffin machine and the spraying paraffin powder machine, otherwise the pipe which just cleaned may be blocked up, which the spraying powder can not be carried out.
d. Stop spraying paraffin powder: if the spraying paraffin powder machine should be stopped and the liquid in the box of the melting paraffin machine is used up, the operation order, first push the stop button (at the same time, the machine automatically cleaning the remain paraffin in the pipe and pump) about 10~20 seconds; (cleaning time is 30 seconds) turn off the valve between the melting paraffin machine and the spraying paraffin powder machine before the end of cleaning,
Attention: if turn off the valve at the end of automatically cleaning work, next time the spraying paraffin powder work can not be done on the machine.
4. Warning
A. Put paraffin into melting paraffin the machine as the liquid to be used, the level should be more than half volume of the box, otherwise it is influence the efficient.
B. When it is first time to use the melting paraffin machine, before connect the power, prohibit no paraffin in the box of the machine.
C. The height of workshop of the spraying paraffin machine is not less than 5 meter, the area is not less than 9 square meter.
D. The spraying paraffin powder machine should be strictly operated according to the above operating order, otherwise, it has unnecessary inconvenient.
5. Safety using power
A. The machine using 3 phases 4 lines alternative power, line voltage 380V phase voltage 220 V frequency 50/60 HZ.
B. The diameter of copper line of power of the melting paraffin machine 6 square mm
The diameter of copper line of power of the spraying paraffin powder machine 2.5 square mm

Automatic Extrude Candle Making Machine
This kind machine is new designed being pre-press and adjustable at two operation positions.
The machine is a reasonable configuration, advanced technology, reliable operation, easy adjustable and lower noise. The dimensions of the candles to be press and form can be controlled on stipulated limits. The uniform density and the same weight to be achieved, so guarantee the time of candle burning being exact and equalization. On the same machine, you can change the moulds to press various complication surface and different height as we as having neat, accurate, smooth appearance of candles.
A. Characteristic of Product
1. Before the candles to be pressed and formed in the moulds, the wax power are pre-pressed so that the density are uniform and the candle's weight is basically same.
2. Adjusting the low limit of travel for a pre-press head, and weight of the candles can be compressed, and may be adjusted in its range.
3. Because of pre-pressing and pre-press compressive stress keep balance of construct measure. Can let the longer or bigger candles up to down density consistent.
4. Because there is no gap between mould plate and chassis when it press the candles. And pressing punch and backing punch have the spring's buffer. This can make the candle's side and angle regular. And can't damage several of complex appearance surfaces; decrease wax powder extruded out of moulds.
5. There have pre-pressing punch heads, so can adjust wax powder loose and burliness optional that enter the interior constant volume of the wax powder tank. The machine can press ideal weight candle that us several of different wax powder grains.
6. The machine has double operate positions.. if put two kinds of different color wax powder into the two Wax Powder Tanks, or set tow kind of different surface shape punch heads, the machine can make two color or two kind of surface shape of candles in the same time. And then flow into each candle boxes.
7. Though the high-speed gear lubricate in the oil tank, it is in low noise when the machine works.
B. Construction and Specification
The machine is consist of Box Body, Gear Transmission, Sheave Wheel Mechanism, Rod Drive, Wax Powder Tank, Up and Down Crossbeam, Fixed Position Installation, Pre-pressing Installation, Pressing Punch, Backing Punch, Mould Plate, Stencil-Plate, Heater, Electric System etc.
1. Motor: 380V/50Hzz-3ph, 1.5KW, 960 RPM.
2. Punch Candle: 28~30 times/ per min. output: 56~60 PCs, if change bigger diameter of the motor belt wheel, and increase the output of the candles.
3. Heater Power: 500W/each pc (total: 2PCs).
4. Candle size: Diameter: 20-40mm, height: 10-50mm. Using same mould, it can increase or decrease the height of the candle 2mm according to the regulation size (adjust the length of the rod), can adjust the weight. If change mould and homologous stencil-plate, it can adjust the height of the candle at will in the range of standard size.
5. Precision of the candle weight: error of the weight is less than +-2% for example: the candle weight is 13 gram, the candle weight will hold 13g+-0.26g.
6. Dimension of machine: 922mm X 795mm X 1410mm.
C. Application and Adjustment.
1. Before operate the machine, please note: the direction of revolution of the motor is the arrowhead marked at the belt cover, i.e. overlook is clockwise direction.
2. The wax powder in the Wax Powder Tank should be over the top level of the blades. If the powder is not sufficient, there must be complemented, thus this avoids the effect to height and density of the candles.
3. Turn on the power and then heat the punch head, as the temperature of the preheat reaches pre-adjusted to (bout 60oC-70oC, this temperature, this temperature can adjust by the Temperature Knob). When the yellow light is off, this means preheat has completed and the unit can operate to make the candles
4. After the machine has worked for several cycles. You can check the weight of some candle., if the weight is not suitable, user can regulate the height of fall pre-press punch, by loosing the lock nut and turning the screw sleeve up or down, then twist the lock nut.
D. Maintenance
1. After the machine stop work, it requires to clean bottom surface of both pressing punch and backing punch, using cloth (it is best to felt immersed oil), to prevent remainder of candle to stick.
2. When start to work at each class time, operator must pour lube into striping sleeve of four-guide column. When the machine first operates, should be check high-speed axe side oil tank whether it has lube or not, if have not or not enough, using 30# engine oil complementing.
3. The operator should clean candles output channel in time, so that keep channel smooth.
4. After the end of each class work, the platform of the machine must scavenge. And use brush to weed out remains wax powder from the surface of Mould Plate, bottom of Stencil-plate and the bottom of Fixed Position hole.
E. Trouble Shooting and Eliminating
When the machine occurs abnormity, you should immediately stop the machine and eliminate it. Refer to the following table,

1. As the outlet of candles is wall up, do not auto-output. a. There are too much wax powder in the pipeline.b. The candles are pushing each other in the narrow position of the pipeline. a. Clean pipelineb. Moving Steel Strip used to lead the candles in the pipeline.
2. The top surface of the candles is rough and defective. a. Pressing temperature is overheat or not enough.b. The bottom surface on the punch of backing or pressing is not smooth and sticked by remainder of the candle. a. Turn the control temperature knob.b. To clean the bottom surface of punch.
3. The periphery of the candlewick hole is not tidy. The core needle fixed under pressing punch is hit crooked. Aligning by pliers.
4. When press punch down, the machine action have blocked evidence. a. The driving belt is sliding.b. The density of the candle is dense. a. Adjust position of the motor, so that the belt is tightened.b. Adjust travel of the pre-press punch head, low limit is lifted up.
5. The pre-press punch head go into feeding hole and can't reset. The core pole of the pre-press and the hole of axes are sticked as too much wax powder in the gap. Take out the pre-press punch; clean up the wax powder on the surface of pre-press punch and in the hole.
6. Mould plate position is not exact and with the punch being snap.Note: Normally could not happened, in necessary, adopt action a. and b. step, otherwise do hot change Mould and gap which are already work well. Between the Mould Plate and the Bottle Plate, the Mould Plate and Feeding Plate are snapped by wax powder. a. Use a thin steel plate less than 0.2mm to take out the reminder wax in the gap.b. Properly adjust their gaps.
F. Others:
1. According to the customers' requirement, we can provide or new design the different specification of series productions, for making the candle's size shape. For example, can increase the diameter and height of the candle.
2. we can supply and design various punch heads and moulds, and other spare parts correlatively for the machine.
Chalk making machine
The high efficiency chalk making machine made in our factory is a modern design synthesizing all advantages of chalk machines both in China and abroad. It is reasonable in structure and convenient for operation. It produces 1,000 pieces of chalk at one machine cycle.
I. Structure and characteristics.
The chalk making machine consists of four main parts, namely the chalk moulding box, the chalk stripping system, the frame of the ejecting mechanism and dumper
1. Made of the seamless red copper tubes, the mould has high smooth, rustproof inner surface, which will have a very long servicing life.
2. Equip with hand bar, roller bearings, the ejecting mechanism can smoothly and nimbly operated.
3. For preventing the liquid chalk material and dust gong into the operating mechanism of the machine, the frame of the ejecting mechanism is wholely sealed.
4. The dumper is equip with center adjusted roller bearings, so it can be effortlessly and easily turned over.
II. Installation and starting up
Befor starting, the machine should be steadily placed on a hard surface. The mechanism should be s eriously checked if there is any loose. At the meantime, clean the whole machine thoroughly and lubricate all the lubricating points. Operate with no load several times. The machine can be put into operation only in the condition that every part of it is in good order.
III. Operation
1. Take the mould box to the injecting position.
2. Apply few lubricating liquids (oil) on the mould.
3. Put the milky chalk material into the trough. Take out the surplus material before solidifying. After the material fully solidified, operate the hand bar by hand and turn the mould box to 180O, the chalk will draw down to the table from the moulds automatically; if there were also have some chalk stay in the moulds, please turn the three united bars located on the bottom of the box ( you can see it when you turn the box for 180O ) for a cycle, the spare chalks will draw down. Those are the chalks you wanted.
4. Turn the box to the first position for the next injection.

Troubleshooting
There is leakage of wax liquid at the bottom of the candle tubes.
Causes:
a. The lead heads are too small and results in large clearance.
b. The starting cross beam is not lowered to the bottom.
c. The lead leads are out of limit
Solutions:
Strike the lead heads lightly with the expanding punch, and leave a clearance of 0.04mm.
Lower the cross beam to the bottom.
Replace the lead heads
There is resistance when stripping. Up-down motion of the cross beam is not flexible.
Causes:
There is sealing-off of the lend heads and consequently lead heads block at the bottom o the water tank.
Worm and gear do not mesh.
The lead heads fit too tight
There are dirties on worm and gear.
There are scratches on the inner walls of the tubes.
The temperature of the wax liquid exceeds 95C
Solutions:
Remove the lead heads and weld it well.
Adjust the guide wheel and resume original position.
Adjust the clearance of he lead heads.
Clear out the dirt.
Eliminate the scratches on the inner walls of the tubes.
Make the temperature of the wax liquid drop to below 95C.
Leaking of water from top and bottom of the tubes.
Causes:
The wax liquid is not completely cooled and stripping it made forcibly.
The machine is not leveled well during the installation (or there were clashes during transportation).
Solutions:
Scrape the old weld surface and weld up.
Level the machine before use.
Two ends of the cross beam are out of balance and this results in resistance.
Causes:
After overhaul, the assembled gears at two ends do not synchronize.
There are dirtsat the gear lower stopping position.
Solutions:
Reassemble the gears and make them synchronize.
Clear out the dirts on the lower stopping iron.
The wick can not be lifted,
Causes:
The bore diameter of the pushing-off tube is too large.
The wick is too thin
The spool does not turn on the axis.
Solutions:
Replace the lead heads.
Use standard wick
Adjust the spool axis.
The top of he spiral candle lose its decorative pattern.
Causes:
Insufficient time of cooling and stripping is made too early. The pushing-off tube goes right through the candle center.
Solutions:
Touch the candle with fingers to see if itÂ’s completerly solidified before stripping.
If candle top loses its decorative pattern, let out the could water in the water tank and pour in hot water, then apply lubricant.
The tip of the spiral candles break.
Causes:
The tubes are not straight
The tubes are not perfectly cylindrical.
The pushing-off tubes are not concentric with the candle tubes.
The pushing-off tubes are not straight.
Solutions:
Replace the candle tubes.
Scrape the soldering tin on the top. Plug in round tool with appropriate taper and rotate.
Adjust the circle center.
Adjust the pushing-off tubes.
Air bubbles occur in spiral candles.
Causes:
The difference between the temperature of the ambient air and that of the water is too great.
Improper temperature of the wax liquid.
Solutions:
Adjust air temperature and water temperature both to 20 C.
Wax liquid temperature shall be around 115 C before pouring.
Breaking of the wick.
Casues:
The bore of lead head is too large and this leads to the leakage of wax liquid.
There are knots on the wick.
Solutions:
Replace the lead head.
Refer to the threading method of he wick.
