Engineering
AEP has an experienced team of design and technical sales engineers to help you with the engineering side of your project. With over 75 years of combined experience in plastics engineering, we can assist with material selection, part design and make tooling recommendations. Our people are our most important technical asset, and we can help with the most demanding of projects.

CAD/CAM Prototyping
AEP have a full compliment of CAD/CAM services with rapid prototyping available on site. If you require drawings or CAD files, our engineering department can generate these using your CAD
data or completely from concept. With 4-axis wire EDM and CNC machining, AIM/AEP are on the cutting edge of tool and prototype construction. CAD files are accepted via internet or floppy disk.
Timing is everything in life, and tooling is no exception. AEP will keep you completely up to date on your mold or extrusion die status weekly, or even daily, as you require. AEP/AIM will build the tooling "right the first time," and we will recommend appropriate materials for the job. AEP/AIM can also manage large capital investment projects with outside tooling companies, if required.
Materials
We have working expertise in a wide range of resins and materials. But perhaps even more importantly, we have experts who can assist you in evaluating and selecting the material which will work best in your application. Strength, hardness, rigidity/flexural properties, static dissipation and perhaps the most important factor-- cost...we'll assist you every step of the way. Below is a list of some of the plastics we routinely process.
Polystyrene--high impact
Polyethylene--(LDPE, HDPE)
PVC--rigid/flexible
Polypropylene
ABS
Nylon
Acrylic
CAB/butyrate
Polycarbonate

rapid
prototyping
When you need a part and want to make sure of the concept, call us. We can supply full engineering drawings as well as rapid prototyping made to your specifications in the desired material.
We offer rapid prototyping in two areas:
> prototype parts prior to mold construction
> prototype molds prior to production molds
rapid prototyping parts may be built based on your drawings. rapid prototypes may be machined or produced by other means in order to provide you with a sample of how your part will look, feel, and perform.
Quality
