Augers Unlimited designs and manufactures augers to virtually any size.
Our standard off-the-shelf augers have met or exceeded the needs of the Food, Pharmaceutical, Health & Beauty Aids, Chemical, Industrial and Tobacco industries. Materials in the Food industry such as; Biscuit, Cake & Pancake Mixes, Spices, Cocoa/Chocolate Mixes, Instant Drink Mixes, Milk Powders, Ground, Instant, Bean & Agglomerated Coffees, Puddings and Rice & Grains to name a few.
Our design and quality surpasses the stringent requirements of the Pharmaceutical industry dispensing products such as Oral Antibiotics, Nutritionals, and various Medicated Powders.

General Information for Vertical Augers
Augers are sized in increments of 1/16" and are usually stamped on the drive stem. A number 16 auger will be 1 inch in diameter; a number 32 will be 2 inches in diameter and so on. Augers used in filling machines will have various connections to their drive mechanisms. The most popular is the bayonet style.
Free Flow Augers
Free Flow augers are typically used to feed a dry product that does not stick together or to anything it may come in contact to. Products like sugar, salt, sand, rice and popcorn are examples. The auger tooling that is used with free flowing products will consist of a straight auger design, a spinner plate to stop the material flow, a straight funnel and some type of collector.
Non-Free Flow Augers
Non-Free Flow augers are typically used to feed a dry product that is sticky and will not flow on its on. Products like cake mix, pancake mix, non-dairy creamer, grated cheese and soup base are examples. The auger tooling that is used with non-free flowing products will consist of a self feeding auger design and a lip funnel.
Special Auger Designs
While there is an enormous quantity of standard augers available, the results of your filling machine operation depend entirely on the proper auger design for your product. An incorrect auger design can result in inferior product in terms of quantity and/or quality.
