Control Technology Corp. designs, manufactures and markets products that enable electronic automation devices to be monitored, controlled, configured or reprogrammed over the Internet and/or intranets.
Founded in 1975, CTC has a long history of providing innovative automation solutions to its customer base. CTC's software and hardware products are divided into three application areas that can be implemented independently or combined for a complete shop-floor to top-floor integrated solution.
Collect and Control: Real-time automation control and data acquisition. This includes programmable automation controllers that can monitor and control digital, analog, and motion control devices using CTC's Quickstep State-Logic Control Software.
Visualize: Visualization and graphical control control of the machine or process. These applications primarily make use of CTC's iPanel industrial touchpanels and our CT HMI interactive graphical development software.
Manage and inform: Web-based integration of devices with enterprise computing systems. These application solutions are based on CTC's CT Server software. CT Server is a universal information server with an integrated SQL database that provides both historian and event and action capabilities.
Over the years, CTC has introduced a number of breakthrough technologies that have had a significant impact on the automation industry. In the 1980's Control Technology was one of the first companies to take advantage of advanced microprocessor technology to integrate servo motor control, stepping motor control, analog and digital I/O control, user interface control, and network communications into a single control device we call the automation controller. CTC programmable automation controllers combine the functions of a PLC, PC, and Motion Controller into single compact and highly reliable package.
In the 1990's CTC was the first company to incorporate Web Server and Internet Technologies into Programmable Automation Controllers and was granted several patents in this area. This breakthrough technology enables true Enterprise Connectivity right down to the device level without the need for expensive middleware or intermediary PC's and servers. CTC products provide the ability for our customers to easily monitor and/or control machines and equipment in their local factory, or in remote locations around the world.
CTC products are designed and built at our headquarters in Hopkinton, Massachusetts where we maintain a solid base of expertise in motion control, digital and analog circuit design, control software engineering, language technology, user interface design, as well as Web and Internet technology, resulting in highly-integrated products combining these diverse technologies. We adhere to CTC's quality policy in all aspects of our business, including product design, manufacturing, and customer support.
