Over the last few years DS Brookes has undertaken significant product development now being able to offer Bi-metallic barrels/liners for wear, corrosion resistance and extreme applications such as highly filled processes. In the area of screw production Brookes can offer anything from the standard application finishes, through flight tipping to a fully encapsulated bi-metallic screws.DS Brookes has a new 55,000 square foot (5110 m”) facility in the United Kingdom and has undertaken extensive re-organization/enlargement of its screw and barrel manufacturing capabilities with the emphasis on modern machining techniques and CNC Machine tools. This now gives the company a far greater portfolio of capability than ever before and when harnessed with the Corporate screw Technology, far greater know how than the majority of its competitors.
So in Synopsis Brookes can now offer the perfect barrel material, perfect screw finish and the ideal screw geometry for pretty much any extrusion application on almost any make for Extrusion machine in operation today.
D-S Brookes manufactures bimetallic barrels ranging in bore size from 18 mm (3/4") to 550 (21.5") mm up to 5700 (225") mm long in one piece. Two-piece barrels are also available to accommodate larger machine types up to 7700 (303") mm long.DS Brookes Barrels can be supplied with features such as, Screwed or Welded flanges, Feed or Vent ports, Saddles or Vent blocks, Thermocouple and Pressure Transducer Drilling, High pressure sleeves for injection cylinders, Longitudinal Cooling Holes, Peg holes and many more.
Screws in all geometry styles up to 250mm (10") Diameter and to nearly 7000mm (275") in Length can be supplied. Bimetallic screws have been developed and tested to complete satisfaction over many years and complement the Brookes bimetallic cylinders. Our DS9000 screws are completely protected by a special bimetallic layer covering the entire surface. Hardness, alloy thickness, straightness and dimensional tolerances are all guaranteed to the same stringent standards applied to our cylinders.
In addition to barrel and screw production, D-S Brookes also offers re-sleeving services for worn nitrided barrels.
