PLASTICIZER SCREWS
AND BARRELS
ISO 9002

HIP (hot isostatic pressing)
- Wear and corrosion proof special coating
Head body, head sleeve, head collar, nozzle, plug reduction, mixer: to drawing or sample.
We manufacture screws and barrels for all type of injection and extrusion machines with any dimension and length on sample or drawing. We utilize only special steels (with origin certification), coming from leading foundries. The cycles of work are determined by our remarkable experience in this sector and they are carefully checked both during and after; the thermical treatments are regulated by precise specifications that our usual suppliers must respect, both for the starting and final treatments. With regard to this, a complete documentation, comprising test certificate, origin certificate and executed treatment certificate, is available on customer’s request. For special applications we can execute tests that are mechanically and chemically tested.
Single screws and barrels from diameter 18 up to diameter 300. Length up to 9000.
Counter-rotating and co-rotating twin screw.
Monobloc and segmented twin barrels:
New and recovering
Nitrided
Bimetallic
Wear and corrosion proof special coating
Screw elements: nitrided - tempered - wear and corrosion proof - HIP (hot Isostating pressing):
Spiral
Eccentric
Mixing

Barrel elements: nitrided - tempered - bimetallic - HIP:
Closed
Open
Monobloc
With sleeve

We execute repairs by taking off the old sleeves and re-installing the new ones with tempered sleeves, bimetallic sleeves, HIP sleeves.
The materials are selected according to definite criterions based on a several year experience, following the principal sectors of plastic materials:
INJECTION
EXTRUSION
BLOW MOULDING

We get the steel we use only from main steel plants: it has to be documented and certified as far as its origin is concerned.
The use of highly qualified products minimizes the possibility of machine shop rejections: this aspect certainly contributes to the pieces longer duration.
We pursue the quality not only of the nitriding steel (the so-called “standard”), but also of every product we propose. Bimetallic steel, sintered steel, high abradibility and corrosion proofness steel have already been tested for long time, then classified considering precise criterions and bearing in mind their final use.
All the materials employed in our production are always provided with certificates of origin; this involves a selection at the moment we buy the rough materials and all the coating materials used for new screws and barrels, as well as for regeneration and overhaul procedures. The importance of documents proving the origin and the characteristics of the materials affects the production process with the final aim of quality. In fact, a first-rate material has well-known satisfying results: let’s think about its workability, or how it maintains its original dimensions structure and metallurgic characteristics after processing and heat treatments. Otherwise, a low-quality kind of material doesn’t maintain the characteristics for which it has been chosen, dramatically reducing its reliability and duration.
Screws and barrels damaged by time or by a premature wear caused by the employed materials are regenerated with various techniques, each time adopted considering the needs and the conditions of the pieces.

After a preventive structural survey, the screws are coated on their top thread with abrasion and corrosion-resistant alloys compatible with the base material. We are able to regenerate any screw, no matter its base material, diameter or length, thanks to our long experience together with our advanced thecnology.

The barrels can be regenerated by high resistant bushings, bimetallic bushings, or bored out to the minimum diameter achievable polishing the worn part. In this case, the heat treatment must be repeated.
