About APV Industrial Extruder

APV Baker's head office,
Peterborough UK.APV Baker have been at the forefront of extrusion technology for over 30 years, and we have the experience to supply the best and most efficient systems to meet our customers' needs. We also pioneered the introduction of twin screw extruders. As well as easy cleaning and maintenance tasks, twin screw mixing is widely acknowledged to be the most versatile process for the manufacture of extruded products.

APV Baker was originally formed as a result of the acquisition of Baker Perkins by APV, and today forms part of the Invensys Group. Combining the engineering credentials of the APV company with the proven process and automation strengths of Invensys has resulted in a mature and experienced machinery supplier.

Our capabilities extend from supplying single machines to the turnkey supply of complete production plants, and we encompass the entire process from raw materials premixing through melt compounding to final grinding of the finished powder, or final pelletising of the finished product.

In recent years we have combined our engineering knowledge with the latest 3-D CAD programmes to develop a full range of 19 - 100mm MP extruders. Drawing upon the control and automation expertise of the Invensys group, we can where required integrate our machines into a complete process line with centralised controls. Options extend from basic manual operation through data logging to fully automated process lines

At APV Baker we understand the importance of continuous, trouble-free operation to our customers, and the need to avoid machine down time. With this in mind, we have established a comprehensive range of support packages designed to ensure the optimum performance of equipment.

An emergency call-out service offers 24 hour / 365 day cover in the event of breakdown, and we hold an extensive range of replacement parts for rapid response to customers needs throughout the world.
APV Baker, a unit of Invensys plc, is expanding sales, spares and service capabilities for its twin-screw extruders and systems for the powder coating, plastics compounding, pharmaceutical and chemical industries.

New resources will be added at the existing APV Baker site at Grand Rapids, Michigan. A dedicated operation for the company's Industrial Extruder operation will extend activities which have served the food industry from Grand Rapids for over 30 years.

Randy Kincer, who has many years experience in the extrusion industry, will lead the team expanding this APV Baker business.

Key markets include powder coating and thermoplastics compounding, with several thousand extruders installed.

The division also sells into the pharmaceutical and chemical industries, where extruders as continuous mixers are used to replace conventional batch mixers.

APV Baker has been a force in these markets in the USA for over 40 years. This latest development will provide an improved service to customers by taking advantage of direct links to state-of-the-art design and engineering resources, and providing a rapid response to customer needs.

APV Baker twin-screw extruders are manufactured in a range of sizes from tabletop laboratory machines for development projects with outputs as low as 10 lb/hour, to 5 ton/hour production systems.
