Company Profile
NFM IDDON manufactures a wide range of processing machinery and systems including Extruders, Mills, Calenders and ancillary equipment. The orginal company was established in 1885.
NFM IDDON is a wholly owned subsidary of NFM/Welding Engineers Inc. of Massillon Ohio, USA. NFM owns the assests of the operating division formally, NFM Feedscrew Division and Monsanto Extruder Division.
NFM/Welding Engineers has for many years been a manufacturer and supplier of extruders, presses and component parts to the leading Rubber and Plastic manufactures in North America. In particular they have a first class specialised manufacturing facility, which includes state of the art hard-facing applications and heat treatment.
In addition to new machinery, the Company also provides a full after-market support programme which includes spare parts, repairs and technical service for all makes of Extruders, Mills, Calenders and Tyre Curing Presses.
Given the Companies long history and expertise covering most aspects of polymer processing, we are confident we are ideally placed to service our customers needs world wide for replacement part through fully integrated turnkey projects.
Polymer Manufacturing, Compounding & Finishing Systems.
NFM/Welding Engineers is a pioneer and innovator in the design and manufacturing of systems for the rubber and plastics industries.
NFM/WE manufactures equipment for compounding, finishing and speciality applications.
These include:
* Single-screw rubber and plastics extruders
* Co-rotating twin-screw extruders
* Counter-rotating twin-screw extruders
* Calenders
* Roll mills
* Tire-curing presses
Each system is designed to provide decided processing advantages necessary to enhance productivity in critical applications.
NFM/WE's computer-engineered systems integrate all secondary equipment including:
* Pelletizer
* Screen-pack changers
* Feeders
* Material-handling equipment
These systems are equipped with advanced microcomputer programmable controllers, providing a direct interface with all operations.
TWIN-SCREW CO-ROTATING EXTRUDERS
The Toshiba SS Series* co-rotating twin-screw line offers the highest torque-per-free-volume and the highest screw speed of any commercial available compounding extruder. Manufactured in North America, it is available in sizes ranging from 37 to 175 millimeters.
TWIN-SCREW COUNTER-ROTATING EXTRUDERS
The counter-rotating, non-intermeshing system designed by Welding Engineers enhance feed acceptance, provides superior distributive mixing, enables multistage feeding, and produces optimum venting. Screw diameters range from .80 to 10.00 inches.
PIN-BARREL RUBBER EXTRUDERS
NFM pin-barrel cold-feed extruders offer greater output than the same size cold-feed extruder with lower operating cost.
SMOOTH-BORE RUBBER EXTRUDERS
NFM smooth-bore rubber extruders offer the simplicity of a single machine, resulting in fewer emissions, reduced wastewater volume, and safer, cleaner handling. Cold-feed vacuum extruders provide lower porosity in continuous-cured rubber extrusion.
SINGLE-SCREW PLASTICS EXTRUDERS
NFM offers a range of single-screw plastics extruders from 3-1/2" to 10", and vacuum extruders from 3-1/2" to 8".
CALENDERS
NFM's IDDON mixing mills and calenders are designed to handle all type of rubber materials. A leader in calender design, NFM equipment incorporates the latest technology and can be made to any roll configuration.
TIRE-CURING PRESSES
NFM/WE tire-curing presses meet and exceed industry specification, ultilizing three patented features:
* Segemented mold operator(SMO) kit
* Loader Basket
* Beam lock
* Manufactured by NFM Welding Engineers Inc., under license from Toshiba Machine Co., Ltd., Tokyo, Japan

DEWATERING EXTRUDERS
NFM/Welding Engineers Ltd. dewatering extruders** reduce the moisture content of polymer emulsions from 20%-50% to 5%-10%, enabling them to be processed in a dryer to 0.5% moisture. By providing efficient drying at relatively low temperatures, these fully closed systems offer safer, cleaner handling.

The NFM/Welding Engineers' TEM Series* co-rotating, intermeshing twin-screw line offers the highest torque-per-free-volume and the highest screw speed of any of the major twin screw competitors. Manufactured in North America, it is avaialble in 41mm, 48mm, 58mm, 75mm, 93mm, 104mm and 136mm models. The TEM Series has evolved into one of the most innovative, productive compounders, ensuring uniform dispersion. The increased torque of the patented redesigned gearbox with high screw-free-volume assures high quality production at a low resin temperature. Production cost are lower as a result of TEM Series compounders' easy operation and simplified maintenance.
