CK Series Single Screw Extruder
The B&P Ko-Kneader is a rotating and reciprocating single-screw extruder designed for shear and temperature sensitive compounds. The flights on the elements are interrupted and interact with three rows of stationary kneading pins located in the barrel wall. The interaction between the moving flights and stationary pins provide excellent simultaneous dispersive and distributive mixing.

The CK-Series is built in modular 4D barrel blocks allowing process lengths of 8 or 20 L/D.

The barrel and screw shaft are cored to allow circulation of heating/cooling media. The barrel may also be heated electrically.

CK-CP Series for Carbon Paste
Specifically designed for carbon paste manufacture where low shear, kneading action and high capacity are primary considerations, the B&P CK-CP series Ko-Kneader delivers performance. The mixers have throughput rates up to 50 percent greater than any similarly sized mixer. With a process length of 11:1 L/D, the material produced is a dense, uniform paste.

BP Series Twin Screw Extruder
Increased torque, large free volume and medium shear processing gives the BP Series the capability to handle technical compounding for a range of applications. Ideal for Powder Coatings and Toners, the BP includes the unique clamshell barrel opening design resulting in ease of element and barrel cleaning. Standard sizes are 15mm to 160mm with diameters up to 300mm available. L/D ratios from 15:1 through 55:1.

CT Series Twin Screw Extruder
The CT Series compounders are high torque compounders for compounding advanced polymers to exacting specifications. B&P designs and manufactures the extruders to meet your specific process goals. Standard torque and high torque models are available, with speed ranges up to 1,200 rpm. The standard size range is from 25mm screw diameter to 133mm, with L/D ratios to 56:1.

B&P's CT Series compounders are the answer to today's compounding industry's demand for versatile, rugged extruders.

The CT compounders offer flexibility including high-speed and high-torque designs. A full selection of elements and barrel designs are available.

Standard size ranges for the CT Series extruders begins with the 25mm laboratory model and go up to 133mm for high torque production compounders.

Well suited for the rigorous demands of today's compounding applications, the CT is ideal for most Master Batch and Color Concentrates. The CT is also found to be an outstanding continuous mixer for PP, PE, PS, PET, ABS, TPE, TPU, and PC, unfilled or filled.

Let our process engineers assist you in all the aspects of your equipment selection:

* Element selection - Conveying screws and kneading elements for any application
* Side feeders - Heavy-duty design feeders for all sizes of twin screw extruders
* Controls options - From simple relay-logic panels to PLC-based systems and complete HMI packages with data logging, recipe management, and plant integration
* Metallurgies - Options available for abrasion and corrosion resistance

B&P offers the CT Series of co-rotating compounders as a part of our comprehensive line of mixing equipment. Each of our product lines is complemented by B&P's customer support, including after-market service, our Tech Center with process development and testing facilities, and a full range of process and auxiliary equipment.

The Ko-Kneader, a low-shear rotating and reciprocating single-screw extruder is designed for shear and temperature sensitive compounds. The flights on the screw are interrupted and interact with three rows of stationary kneading pins located in the barrel wall. The interaction between the moving flights and the stationary pins provide dispersive and distributive mixing simultaneously.

B&P acquired the Ko-Kneader license from Mr. List – the inventor of the Ko-Kneader principle – back in 1951. Since then, B&P has installed hundreds of Ko-Kneaders throughout the world. The design of the new CK-Series incorporates optimized process and production solutions for the following applications:

* Powder Coatings and Toner
* PVC Compounding
* PVC Calander
* Wire & Cable Insulation
* Engineered Thermoplastics
* Masterbatch / Concentrates
* Adhesives / Silicones
* Food

The following sizes are available: 30, 45, 60, 80, 110, 150, 220 and 300 mm, with process lengths of 8, 12, 16 and 20 L/D.

The new process and production optimized CK-Series offers the following cost effective features:

* 100% metric design
* Standard electrically heated barrels (liquid heating optional)
* Water-cooled barrels
* Liquid tempered screw
* Modular barrel design from 8D to 20D
* Power feeders and/or twin-screw side feeders
* Dynamic vent port design for high vacuum applications
* Enhanced feeding section for high volume feed
* Compact high performance gearbox
* Screw speeds up to 750rpm
* Innovative downstream solutions

B&P - A Dependable Supplier of Mixers to the Industry for Over 100 Years
Since the introduction of the Ko-Kneader in the 1950's, B&P has supplied fully automated systems - including coke pre-heaters, carbon paste mixers, and paste cooler systems. These systems operate worldwide, producing quality Soderberg or pre-bake carbon paste in Europe, the Middle East, Australia, North America and China.

B&P's continued developments over the years have helped premium aluminum smelters worldwide stay competitive in a changing marketplace. At B&P, the belief that quality stands as the cornerstone of our business remains constant. Our staff is ready to assist you in your quest to obtain the most modern and reliable equipment available to meet the production needs of the future.

B&P’ Continuous Kneader’s productivity is enhanced by its reliability and operational ease. The kneaders just keep on mixing – keeping your supply of carbon paste and your whole operation up and running. B&P’s CK-Series Continuous Kneaders commonly operate for 30 or 40 years – continuously and with only minor maintenance.

A consumption ratio of less than 400 kg of pre-baked carbon anode per metric ton of aluminum produced is reported by customers using B&P’s 500mm CK-Series Continuous Kneader. The results, reported for aluminum production in both 220 KA and 350 KA pot operations, are considered to be among the best ratios ever achieved using a Continuous Carbon Paste Kneader.
