Q. Are your {screw elements} breaking before they wear out?
A. Your current screw supplier is using the {wrong materials}...
" Gives us a call and we will show you how to improve the
life of your parts, optimise your running conditions and
reduce your maintenance costs through careful choice of
materials of construction.
Our Screw elements are manufactured using the latest
technology and can be made to fit any make and
size of extruder.
If necessary we can even develop a new screw
element to satisfy your exact processing needs.
At xtrutech we manufacture all our wear resistant
screw elements to the highest standards to ensure
compatibility with original parts."

Our solid/clamshell replacement barrels are supplied in
either nitrided or through hardened tool steels with corrosive
or abrasive resistant properties for the plastic's compounding,
masterbatch, powder coating and food industries.
In cases of extreme wear, (e.g processing plastics with
additives and fillers) your Twin Screw Extruder may need
barrel liners manufactured from a CPM powder-metallurgy
or even HIP'd materials.
Using our specialist knowledge, gained over many years of
designing and manufacturing twin screw extruders with a
number of major OEM's, aswell as working closely with our
valued customers, we can offer advice and Engineering
solutions to your wear or corrosive problems."
Feeding or intake: Reprocess fines or feed bulky powders and high
bulk density extenders without difficulty
Side Feeding: We can re-configure your screw profile or
suggest an alternative feeding solution
Venting &/or vacuum ports: Material exiting through the vent
port and creating "black spec's" in your finished product?
Under mixing: High filler levels can be difficult to incorporate in
to some polymers - we have the solution you need!
Over mixing: blowing agents reacting in the barrel or
under sized aluminum flake and glass fibers too short?
Discharge / stranding problems: Dropping strands or material
backing up in the barrel, do you have a heater down or a worn discharge screw?
Temperature: Over heating or burning of temperature sensitive additives
" breakdowns, alignment,
gearbox timing, general wear..."
" Refurbishing your old extruder can be a very cost
effective alternative to buying a brand new one.
Xtrutech have refurbished dozens of twin screw
extruders, some of which you can see by clicking
the images on the left. "
