Canadian Feed Screws manufactures screws of every type and size and for any application or machine.
They can be tailor made to suit your application to obtain optimal performance, or simply duplicate your existing parts. Manufacturing materials are selected to best suit your process and environment. Carbon steels, nitralloy, tool steel, stainless steel, crucible steel are commonly used.
A suitable hardfacing will be applied by method of welding or heat-treating. We provide flame hardening, stellite, colmonoy, tungsten carbide matrix and ion-nitriding. If plating is required, we offer hard industrial chrome plating, nickel plating and tungsten carbide coating.
Screws are highly polished and protected with rust inhibitor.
All new screws are covered by our one-year warranty against defects in material and workmanship.
Quality you can rely on!
Experience the difference. Barrels form Canadian Feed Screws! Whether your needs are minor or major, we offer a full range of barrels for your processing requirements. Competitively priced, custom made to your machine make from our extensive inventory of semi-finished general-purpose bimetallic blanks 2 1/2, 3 1/2, 4 1/2" I.D sizes are kept in stock. These barrels are available in 2 weeks for those unexpected time sensitive situations.
Nitride barrels, thru hardened, super-hard and corrosion resistant barrels are also available. .
We offer a full barrel repair service including honing, short sleeving and relining feed throats.
Our knowledgeable technical personnel are available to perform an on-site evaluation of your operating process, system and equipment.
Recommendations on necessary modifications for possible cost saving, production improvements and product quality are addressed.
We recognize the need for consistency and strive to attain your goals.
We have developed our own line of proprietary designs which we tailor to suit your application.
When a new screw design is recommended, we gather all pertinent information necessary to develop the optimal screw design suitable for your process.
Our designs offer improved output rates and melt quality, pressure stability, mixing quality and reduced screw wear.
Our "Melt Master" design can typically produce 20-30% more #/HR/RPM than a conventional model with notable quality improvements, and increased production efficiency using LDPE and LLDPE.
Our "Melt Exchange" design is suitable for shear sensitive materials such as flexible and semi-rigid PVC, Polycarbonate, Acrylic and high I.V. PET. as well as high viscosity Polymers such as HDPE and HMWPE.
The low shear and mixing capabilities will provide the low melt temperature and excellent melt quality at high output rates.
We would welcome the opportunity to custom design a screw for your appreciation.
We stand behind the parts we produce and provide long term support for our products.
Although it is preferred to do parts assessments in our plant as our inspection area is well suited for complete and thorough inspections.
A general inspection of your screws and barrels can be performed in your plant. We have our qualified technician come onsite to measure the screw OD, along its entire length and the barrel I.D at key depths - at the typical wear areas.
Parts are also visually inspected, and evident defects are noted eg. chips, broken areas, severe wear etc..
The general conditions of the parts are discussed, then followed-up with our report and a quotation of our recommendations.
There is a modest charge for this service.
When your parts are sent to our plant for inspection and assessment, this service is complimentary.
